Vacuum pump is now mounted

This turned out to be a very simple and robust mount and nicely snuggles with the Air Conditioning compressor.

Both of these pumps are rubber isolated to minimize vibration. By placing them on this chassis stiffener (or “skid” plate) which is anchored to rigid tie points on the chassis, it will minimize the possibility of vibration transferred to the cabin. After all, now without noise from a gas engine, the lower level sound sources and vibrations will become more noticeable. Thus the planning for that effect.

Note how the vacuum pump feet lined up with existing features in the stiffener/skid plate. Luck happens… yet again (Bob doesn’t give himself enough credit here). The stainless bolts thread into captive PEM nuts that we mounted inside the aluminum support tube, from above and below.
